Genevieve Butler is a faculty assistant in the Department of Sociology. She worked at Hilles and Widener libraries from 2001 until she began her current position in 2006. She is a rank and file member of the Harvard Union of Clerical and Technical Workers, which is Local 3650 of the American Federation of County, State and Municipal Employees. Doris, Marta, Julio, Ed Childs, Chief Steward of the Local 26 dining hall workers, and Genevieve together formalized the Harvard TPS Coalition in January, although their work began with the terminations of TPS last fall in anticipation of the potentially devastating impact these decisions would have on Harvard's unions.
