Jin Park is a Harvard College senior studying biology and ethnicity, migration and rights. During his freshman year, he founded HigherDreams, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to making higher education more accessible for undocumented students. What initially started as a digital project expanded to community-based training efforts, and Jin is currently working with Boston Public Schools to create concrete support structures for undocumented students in the district. As a part of this effort, Jin is delivering trainings to guidance counselors and teaching staff at all high schools in BPS to ensure that teaching staff understand the challenges and options available for undocumented students. In October 2016, Jin was named a "Champion of Change" by the Obama White House for his work in advancing college access for undocumented students, and speaks at national conferences about education equity for undocumented students.
