Viridiana Tule Carrizales is the Managing Director of DACA Corps Member Support at Teach For America  In her role as Managing Director, Viridiana supports the overall program continuum as it relates to recruiting, admitting and supporting DACAmented corps members who are accepted into Teach For America. Viridiana is currently responsible for supporting more than 190 corps members and alumni with DACA status who are teaching in more than 20 regions throughout the country.

Most recently, Viridiana co-founded ImmSchools, an emerging organization that seeks to close the gap between immigration and education by working with schools to create safe and welcoming classrooms for immigrant students. Viridiana has been recognized by such organizations like the League of United American Citizens (LULAC) and the Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for her leadership and dedication to the immigration community.

Viridiana was born in Michoacan, Mexico and immigrated with her family to the United States when she was 11 years old. Viridiana attended the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with honors and received her degree in Spanish Literature and Communications. As a former undocumented immigrant, Viridiana is passionate about advocating and supporting undocumented students and their families. She recently became a US citizen and currently resides in San Antonio, TX.
